Splendours of the Nile - 13th March 2010...it's finally here!

Finally leave for Egypt on Saturday. I think i have everything sorted out and i can't wait to get it underway. Cases almost packed, arranged with parents to pop in and feed the guinea pigs daily and now just waiting to finish my last couple of days at work.

I've been on plenty holidays in the past but this is going to be quite different to what i'm used to.

I just hope i haven't underestimated the amount of money i'll need as i'm not bringing much...

Banjul or Bust! December 2009

Every year an organised/unorganised charity event called the Plymouth to Banjul Rally takes place. Annapurna Sanctuary

Just returned from a trek to Annapurna Base Camp which was amazing. It was a wonderful experience to be in such a remote and serene place surrounded by some of the world's highest mountains. Trekking up towards ABC you invariably had sight of the majestic peak of Machhhapuchhere which was a wonderful experience in itself. Add to this the culture and the people and the opportunity to see Kathmandu and Pohkara the trip was really several rolled into one. My guide and porter were great. Madan my gu… Continue

Egypt Experience Tour Oct 10 to 23rd 2009

This was certainly an experience. My Wife and I are not historians but have an interest in the different cultures around the World and the nearest we had come to this sort of experience was in the Yucatan Peninsular of Mexico, rich in Mayan culture. We knew a little about the Pyramids and the Sphinx plus the Valley of the Kings but the number of Temples and the size of them took our breath away
Our group comprised 2 couples from the UK and 1 couple from California. We were named the Lovely group… Continue

Dahab with Egypt Uncovered

Having just returned from a trip to Dahab, I really must thank Ben Whitehead, for his fantastic organisational skills, his intuition at knowing exactly what sort of travellers we are, and for using the best guide in Dahab, Hany who accommodated our needs and requirements with flair, talent and wonderful humour.

Initially the trip started badly, due to no fault of Egypt uncovered I might add, We made the mistake of flying with Thomson from DSA, the sea of football shirts holding back enormous be… Continue
