Family experiences in Egypt: we would especially appre-ciate the names of egyptologists who were child-and-family friendly -- as well as knowledgeable.
What I enjoy most when I'm travelling:
Being There.

I'm afraid I don't have Dudi's e-mail address. We have corresponded with him c/o the Aboudy Bookshop in Luxor. If you Google the name you'll get the address.I think it's Corniche El Nil.

Hi Ann!
So glad the blog was useful to you. We still talk fondly of our trip and especially of Dudi whose correct name is Ahmed Aboudy. Ahmed being such a common name in Egypt, he goes by Dudi instead.
Given the ages of the children in your group, I would press strongly to skip the Pharaonic village which really was a pretty tacky time-filler. If your group has a guide and minibus to yourselves this should be easy. We found the Egypt Uncovered folks very helpful about specific requests, we dealt with Ben Whitehead who was great. I believe they're not using the Pyramids Park hotel any more, which is good news.
Bring your comfiest shoes as there is a lot of walking, but spring is such a pleasant time to be there that it's very comfortable.
I hope you and your party have a wonderful trip.
Regards,
Maria Laing
