Egypt - A trip of lifetime....

We were very impressed with our trip to Egypt and Egypt Uncovered made sure that we had no difficulties during our tour. They also took care of the small things such as provision of water etc, which showed that the tour was well thought through. All coaches were air-conditioned and in very good condition which was a relief as we spent significant amount of time touring visitor attractions in the coach. The other thing that impressed us was the size of our group. We were only 15 of us which made touring a lot comfortable and punctual. And there was a touch of personal attention throughout.

The guide was good and very knowledgeable. The tour manager (Mohammed) gave us a very concise and informative briefing about the culture and behaviour, shopping etc. in the beginning of the tour, that helped us throughout.

All our hotels were excellent, especially Oberoi Mena House in Cairo, which overlooks the pyramids. The hotel staff were excellent and the food was great. We were a bit disappointed with the Marriott, Cairo where we stayed on our second visit, as it was a very big hotel (1200 rooms, largest hotel in Middle East as per our guide) and lacked the personal attention which we got used to in other smaller hotels but five star hotels. The location of the hotel was very good however, as it was in the city centre.

Being vegetarians we were seriously concerned about food. In our cruise ship we were the only two vegetarians, eating no sea food too. The chefs and waiters were excellent. They gave us choice from the buffett plus also they prepared some separate veggie dishes for us. In fact, they would encourage us to eat more, even if were full to the brim. It all felt very special.

On our train journey from Luxor to Aswan, again our guide (Memood) and the tour manager (Mohammed) made sure that all our cabins on the train were up to the standard. We were really impressed by the train journey. There was one concierge taking care of our group on the train and he came and made the beds and served us food. He was a very cheerful person.

Last but not the least, our journey into Al-Fayoum Oasis and Wadi Rayan was like an icing on the cake. We were lucky with the weather and those two days into the desert and the culture were a very tranquil climax of our Egypt tour.

All in all we were happy in the way Egypt uncovered executed this trip. This was our trip of lifetime and we are really happy that Egypt Uncovered kept up with our expectations. We would definitely book another holiday with Uncover the World again for another experience of lifetime and of course, recommend them to our friends and family.
