Nepalese strikes in the Southern Terai Region

A general strike called by the local Tharu organisation in the Terai, in the South of Nepal, is now over a week old, and vehicular travel is still blocked throughout the region. This is causing fuel shortages in Kathmandu and the rest of the country, and also general supply shortages throughout the Terai. Tourist travel to Bardia National Park has been blocked, and Chitwan National Park also has access problems.
None of our clients in Nepal are affected at the moment, but some itineraries that feature travel to these parks, or anywhere in the Terai may well be affected.
