Winter Break
Hi Everyone,
I thought I would just write a short blog explaining where I have been the last few days. I decided to leave my colleagues at one of our busiest times and head off to the French Alps expecting lots of snow only to discover that it all came down here in the UK instead!
Thankfully, there was plenty of snow already there and it was great to get some exercise in the high alps and out of the office for a few days.
Unfortunately, I wasn't able to do any snowboarding but had to keep to ski's as I was trying to teach my girlfriend how to do this after an unsuccessful attempt at boarding a few years ago. I'm glad to say that she took to ski-ing a lot more and was successfully negotiating her way down green runs by the end of the week.
We flew with Jet2 from Leeds and this is an example of a company that is holding its own in the current financial climate. They have grown dramatically over the last few years and it's pleasing to know that they have now commenced flights to Sharm-el-Sheikh from Leeds now, so this is another option for people flying to Egypt from Yorkshire.
Sad to say, when I returned from France, most of the snow that fell here had melted so I will probably have to wait another 18 years to see it again!
Work wise, our Egypt bookings are continuing to do well, and there has been a lot of interest in our Nepal trips recently - We now have quite a few people booked to join our Everest Base Camp treks throughout the year.
I don't think there's any plans to introduce winter sports to Nepal as yet, so for now I will have to make do with France!
